I would like to research Thomas Phifer. Some of his firm’s thoughts that interest me were:
“Attention to detail and celebration of craft”
“Buildings are for the people who use them”
“Architecture is grounded in technology of its time”
“Architecture that connects us with nature”
“Our goal is to make architecture in which one can experience surprise, intellectual stimulation, a profound sense of physical well-being, and an affirmation of the spiritual unity between man and nature.”
Two homes I found particularly interesting were the Spencertown House and the Taghkanic House. Both of these homes were featured in Architectural Records “Record Homes”.
